My First Open Water Dive in Spain! 🌞🐠

Hola everyone! 👋

Today was the best day ever because I did my first open water dive — and it was in Calpe Spain! 🇪🇸🌊 Daddy and I went together, and I was soooo excited I could hardly eat breakfast. When we got to the dive centre, I put on my wetsuit (it was super tight but very warm once I was in the water).

Before we even got in, I played with the dog that lived there. He was very funny because he was trying to eat someone’s tuna sandwich! 🐶🥪 I think he liked the smell of fish just as much as I do!

Daddy rented me a dive watch for my first real dive, and I was so proud wearing it — except I put it on backwards and upside down! 🤦‍♀️ I didn’t even notice until we were already under the sea! It still worked though, so that’s good.

We went diving with a group of divers who were going all the way down to 18 meters, but Daddy and I weren’t allowed to go that deep yet, so we stayed above them, which was really cool because it felt like we were flying over them!

Under the water was soooo pretty — we saw two purple starfish, which were my favourite, and lots and lots of little fish swimming together in sparkly silver schools. They looked like they were dancing! 🐟✨ I kept looking around hoping to see a shark, but I didn’t see one, which was a bit disappointing because I really wanted to spot one (just a small one though, not a big scary one! 🦈😅).

We swam around in a big circle with our instructor, and he said Daddy and I did really well because we didn’t use much air and stayed down for the full 40 minutes! I didn’t want to waste a single second on land — I just wanted to keep swimming and looking at everything!

When we got out, I was so hungry! The water made my tummy rumble. Luckily, Mama and my brother had made us a BIG lunch, which was amazing. I think diving makes food taste even better! 🍞🍉🥪

It was a little cold when we first jumped in, but not nearly as cold as diving in England! I can’t wait to do more dives here — maybe next time I’ll find that shark! 😄🐬
